Ramelb Farm

The beginnings of Ramelb Farm is finally happening! It's been about 5 years of school, travel, trial and error in available space and we are at a point where we have a little space to grow! The seeds I collected from my trips to Italy are now growing in the back area of our property. The area was mostly rock so it took a lot of clearing, excavation with a machine but mostly by hand.

We learned that the soil was alkaline so the start of regenerating the soil has just begun. Excited to see how these first crops do as well as the soil becoming healthier with the added soil nutrients and compost.

We are establishing the first set of herbs (Oregano, Parsley, Basil, Thyme, Sage, Rosemary), flowers (Nasturtium, Marigold, Lavender, Sunflower, Safflower), produce (Zucchini, Bell Pepper, Eggplant, Tomato, Arugula). Texas only really has two seasons so it will be a good learning year to see how mediterranean plants do.

It may be small but it's just the beginning, Ramelb Farm 1.0! Hope to see you at San Antonio Farmer's Markets soon!
